History

In 2008, our community of Cavendish, Prince Edward Island, was inspired by the 100th anniversary of the publication Anne of Green Gables to honour the novel’s author, L. M. Montgomery, our most famous resident.
With the support of individual residents, our municipal council and our tourism association, we created a theatre company to present plays from Life and Times of L. M. Montgomery. This ongoing non-profit community resource provides international-standard professional theatre for residents and visitors, students of all ages and arts lovers throughout Prince Edward Island.
Our productions are designed to help our audience appreciate the depth and breadth of Montgomery’s influence on literature, culture and art in the world.
Our community renovated the 128 year old Long River Church, a church attended by Montgomery, into a 180 seat fully functional thrust style theatre in which to perform our plays. |
