Montgomery’s Legacy : Celebrating Island Writers Today
|
Montgomery Theatre Honours Rose Cousins, Kent Stetson and Cheryl Wagner with Special Concerts this summer The second annual Montgomery’s Legacy Concerts honour Island songwriter Rose Cousins, playwright Kent Stetson and television writer and producer Cheryl Wagner. For the second year, we celebrate writers who are lifting our hearts with their words 100 years after Montgomery did. These intimate joyous concerts take place at The Montgomery Theatre, North Rustico. Artists from a new generation, unusual art forms and unexpected connections express their love of these three Islander writer/heroes in an entertaining night of fun. The full list of artists participating will be published on our website as the evenings approach. “Last year’s celebrations of Lennie Gallant, Angele Arsenault and Frank Ledwell attracted artists and audiences from across the Island. These evenings were so inspiring and fun we were delighted to organize three more. And this years recipients couldn’t be more appropriate. Rose Cousins, the ECMA award winning song writer from Cousins Shore will be celebrated on July 30th.
